Mapping the Uncharted [Open]

Connor wandered the wasteland far ahead of his camp against direct orders to stay behind, both because curiosity took over, and because Damocles itself was curious as to what laid in wait over yonder. Harsh sandstorms ripped through the valley, and he trudged on regardless of this fact, Damocles shielding his eyes and providing him stability as he continued his trek. In his pouch on his back, the dark symbiote used his eyes to map out the area as he passed through it, which served to get multiple things done at once. Exploration, discovery, cartography - the possibilities were endless.

After nary a half-hour of travel, the duo happened upon a stream, one that appeared hidden by the mirages the intense heat brought upon them. Connor followed this stream northward, upstream, which led to him a small cave with, visibility hindrances aside, no way to see within. The thought that he might make a legitimate scientific discovery here intrigued him, and so he trudged toward the entrance with little regard for what might lurk within the shadows.

"Careful," Damocles hissed into his mind. "I will protect you, but that doesn't mean you should throw yourself into danger recklessly." To this, Connor simply laughed. "All is well, my friend. I cannot be harmed with you by my side. This will be simple."
