Mary Longinus | Wind whines through broken tips as our memories die off. Hopefully you'll get used to my hugs - meaning good-bye. |
BIOGRAPHY I. A Monster's Beginning. For some they had to cope with other problems. Abuse, abandonment, loneliness. Yet for Mary she had to cope with the fact that ever since she opened her eyes she was a killer. Her powers manifested since her birth. The Eye of Balor was sleeping within her eye and when she opened it....dead, her mother's lifeless body dropped to the floor. As for Mary, she had to be sent to the hospital. Her father stared at the demon he had brought forth. 'A born killer' was what he thought whenever he left Mary in a dumpster. It would be a lie to say that he felt okay doing this. He had to. Those mutants were destroying the world and Mary would have been better off dead. That should have been the end for Mary. Died due to disease, starvation, hypothermia, murder. Countless of things should have killed her yet she still lives. Picked up by the inhabitants of the ghetto she was their 'trump card'. Some of them were mutants, others were people who just wanted more. Wether it was their next high or to simply escape from poverty. Either way Mary was their saving grace or now it would be more befit to call her their tool. As she grew up the more of her power she uncovered. Using her eye was too exhausting and each time she used it, it would only led to her fatigue which led to her eating more food of her 'saviors'. Not wanting to be a burden she refined her killing methods more and more. Each time they would be cornered she simply escaped by overpowering them with the help of other mutants. Most people don't live lives as fugitives but for Mary this was simply the life she was born into. II. The Breaking Of Worlds. Betrayal, it was like a hot dagger in the spine. Mary and her 'saviors' were captured and taken to prison. What did they do? Blamed her, scorned her, abused her. Even if they were the closest thing that resembled a family in Mary's life whenever the going got bad they turned on her. Doing this to the easily impressionable Mary changed her for good. "Prisoner 201, step forward." She no longer had the name 'Mary'. Now it was either 201 or the variety of nicknames she managed to obtain during her life. The Second Coming, Lugh, Saint Mary. She was what could be considered hope and despair. She was what other mutants wanted on their side. They wanted her so that they could add to their fighting force. From what they had seen there was no end to her powers. Yet it was also so that she might also spell out the doom for everyone opposed to her. Either way she had no say in the matter. After all, she was already damned at birth. Like this years went by until the day came. Charged with mass murder she was sentenced to an execution. If anybody with any vision at all looked at Mary they would see a broken soul. Or maybe she was like this from the beginning? Either way she was walking to her death. Until, it all just stopped. And there she was on the safety of a ship. She was rescued by the rogues and set free. Why? Well, why would you not want to save a valuable ally? She could be a powerful being that would help them in the near future if the war with the APBA continued. III. A New Being. It has not even been a year since Mary had been released. Yet her determination to live had came back to her. Live for what? Just for herself. During her time with The Rogues she had been taught how to navigate through the universe. They taught her the bare necessities and set her aside, to grow stronger. Sure they would keep an eye on her but restricting her would prove to be fruitless. Thus Mary now goes by her alias, Lugh, and travels the world. Hoping to find a meaning to her life so far. POWERS Collection Of The Past: This ability allows Mary to bring back things found in mythology. These can be events, abilities, and even weapons. While she can bring back these things they are severely weakened. An example would be if she tried to recreate Noah's Arc, at her current skill level it would result in a torrent of water coming forth. Another thing to note is that right now she can only have five abilities, events, or weapons manifested at the same time. If she spawns any weapons she has telepathic control of them, allowing her to wield multiple weapons given that she can keep her concentration on all them. While her power allows her to be versatile this also can become a serve disadvantage if one was to find out the origin of her power since they would know what weapons and abilities that could come out. Secondary: Undecided Inventory Spear of Destiny Tier I: This is by far Mary's most used weapon. This goes back to ancient context written in The Bible. When Christ's side was pierced blood and water emerged from the wound and flowed down the spear. Yet when the spear was removed it was bathed in the blood of Christ, forever crimson in color. Saint Longinus, the solider that stabbed Christ spent eternity in a cave forever eaten by a lion. Once he was killed he regenerated and stood back up. Forever destined to repeat this cycle to atone for the sins he committed. Mary manifests this as a crimson red spear that diverges into two twirls. The two twirls then come back together to form two sharpened ends. This spear gifts Mary with supernatural regeneration. Her regeneration is limited to healing small wounds and bruises. The rate differs depending on the severity. If she has a small cut across her cheek it would only take a few seconds to heal. A bruise would take around thirty seconds to a minute. Her stamina also recovers quite quickly allowing her to fight in combat longer. The other ability that the spear has is the ability to 'absorb'. Even if it is that. Mary can only absorb small amounts of what she chooses. An example is if she chooses to 'absorb' the light through her spear causing the room to be dimmer. Or absorbing the flames of a fire to extinguish the fire. Since she is 'absorbing' things then she can fire them back. Yet it is essentially useless since the speed and power of the projectiles are quite lacking.
