Susan Calvin Kroptokin | "You know how I always believe in the future … Without disorder, the revolution is impossible; knowing that, I did not lose hope, and I do not lose it now." - PK |
BIOGRAPHY Susan Calvin Kroptokin was born in 2060 AD. She was named after Susan Calvin, a character in Isaac Asimov's robot short stories. She was born on Earth and was already transitioning into adulthood when the blight destroyed it. She was among those fortunate enough to escape to the Mars colonies. None of her immediate family members survived alongside her. She tried to keep up hope, but eventually accepted that she was alone. To cope she buried herself in work. She became a robots researcher, a fact that makes her chuckle. Did her parents expect this? She has no powers, having been born nearly two decades before the blight, but was affected by the radiation. At the age of twenty five she had a child who was born a mutant. Her newborn only lasted four nights before dying. Although the blight gave powers to some, it also lead to the premature death of others. The death of her child strained her marriage and she found herself divorced by the end of the year. Once more she buried herself in work. The only child she would have would be her robotic creations. Susan is unaffiliated with any major faction. She views the factions all with scorn and resents the bloodshed as a waste of precious resources. She holds a particular dislike of the federation. It would be a misnomer to say she is unaffiliated - she is simply not affiliated with any major faction. Susan is anthropocentric and tries to minimize contact with non-human races. Although she views the mutants as being part of the human race, she holds few friendly feelings towards alien races. She believes that the blight was likely an alien plot to destroy the human race. She supports the overthrow of the federation, with its inclusion of alien races, in favor of a human empire. At the age of thirty five she quit her job and created her own robotics center, the Robotics Institute, with the explicit intent of creating robotics to help humanity colonize new planets free of the alien races. She has lived in Mars since the destruction of Earth, but she believes that the future of humanity is in the stars. POWERS Main: Roboticist: Level One: Able of creating humanoid robots with artificial intelligence. All her robots are bound by the three laws of robotics. Although her robots are stronger than an ordinary human being such as herself they are no match for mutants. Her robots do not have independent personalities. Secondary: Light's Out Level One: Using an electromagnetic weapon, Susan is capable of shutting down anything running on electricity in a twenty foot radius. The weapon is shaped like an ordinary pen and its originally purpose was to help Susan if any of her robots got out of control or if she needed to assure that they were off when she was working on them. | NICKNAME N/A AGE 39 GENDER Female SEXUALITY Heterosexual FACTION Independent OCCUPATION Roboticist. |
